Female coaching clinic highlights commitment to mentorship, inclusion, and youth development in Mali
Bamako, Mali — Giants of Africa successfully delivered its Bamako 2026 basketball camp, marking another major milestone in the organization’s long-standing commitment to youth empowerment and leadership development across Africa. The 2026 edition placed a strong emphasis on women’s leadership in sport through the delivery of the organization’s second female coaching clinic in Mali.
The Bamako 2026 camp forms part of Giants of Africa’s broader mission to use basketball as a platform for education, mentorship, and community impact. Through structured training sessions and leadership-focused programming, the camp provided women coaches with skills development, mentorship opportunities, and tools to lead both on and off the court.
Basketball culture runs deep in Mali, where youth teams have achieved strong results at regional and international competitions. Building on this legacy, Giants of Africa continues to invest in locally rooted programs that strengthen pathways for young people—particularly women—to thrive in sport and beyond.
The Bamako clinic aligns closely with Giants of Africa’s regional expansion under the Dribble for Peace initiative, which focuses on peacebuilding and social cohesion across the Sahel. By prioritizing safe spaces, representation, and leadership training, the organization reinforces the role of sport as a unifying force in environments facing complex social and economic challenges.
By equipping women coaches with the confidence, technical knowledge, and leadership skills required to mentor the next generation, the Bamako 2026 camp strengthens long-term community impact. Giants of Africa continues to demonstrate that investment in women’s leadership is essential to building inclusive, resilient basketball ecosystems across the continent
